Fall and Winter projects

Since there is limited camp activity over the fall and winter, it makes for a great time to get some large projects completed. We will be working over the winter to get the exhaust hood and fire suppression system installed in the kitchen. This is a major, but very necessary project. If anybody would like to help, please let us know. We will also be completing finish work in the dining room, as well as trying to get most of the wire pulled and the electrial work completed. We would also like to finish up the bathrooms. As you can see, there is lots of things to do and almost all of it is completed with volunteer labor. If you are skilled in any of these areas or just would like to help out in some way, contact us and will be glad to notify you of workdays.

Thanks for the Work Day help

Thanks to everyone who came out on Saturday, October 22 to work in the dining hall. We pulled some wire, got the vents installed for the furnances, worked finishing around the windows and started installed finish trim in the dining room. Thanks again to all that helped and God Bless each of you.

Let our caretaker know with an email and we will make arrangements for someone to be there. Have a great time during your visit.

The campground board would like to thank everyone who helped move kitchen equipment today. Jack's Fine Foods of Brazil donated a commercial refrigerator and convection oven to the campground. Convection ovens are very heavy and it took many hands to get it safely moved to the dining hall. Thanks again to each of you, may God Bless each of you. We also finished up cleaning the range hood and also got it moved into the dining hall. The next project is to get it installed.
We wish each of you a fun and safe Labor Day weekend with your family and friends. God Bless each of you!

Exhaust hood has arrived

After an afternoon of work, the exhaust hood that the campground purchased was lowered from the ceiling of the former Brazil Legion, moved outside without a great deal of trouble and a lot of brut force, loaded into a trailer and moved to the campground where it awaits a lot of degreaser and power washing. Once it is cleaned, we will then start the process of getting it installed. We also moved a small comercial refrigerator that we purchased which will allow us to only have to use our large one when we have very large groups. Thanks to all who helped, God Bless each of you.

New Kitchen Equipment

The campground has purchased some kitchen equipment from the recently closed American Legion in Brazil. This included a 12 foot range hood that we needed in the kitchen over the range, plus we were able to buy a stainless steel range. Also included was a 16 foot long serving line with both hot and cold serving areas and a small stainless steel refrigerator. The next project will be getting the hood down and moving it to the campground.

Fall Projects

The priority project for late summer and early fall is the installation of the exhaust hood and fire suppression system over the stove in the dining hall kitchen. Board members and helpers will be working on this project over the next few weeks. If you can help, let us know.
