Wabash Valley Community Foundation grant

The campground was blessed to receive a grant from the Wabash Valley Community Foundation (Clay County) to help start construction of the west shower house.  We would like to use this grant to pay for constructing the floor, foundation, and plumbing rough in.  We already have enough concrete blocks to build the shower house and a blocklayer willing to volunteer to lay the block. The grant from the Foundation is a matching grant, therefore we must raise the same amount of funds to match what the Foundation will be giving us.  If you are interested in making a contribution as we near the end of 2012, we can apply it toward this match and get the shower house construction under way.  If you would like to make a donation toward the match, please contact Board President Perry Mager at 765-548-2412 or Board Treasurer at 765-720-9056.

If you wish to volunteer.

If you would like to volunteer at the campground, please contact the caretaker or one of the board members.  There is always something to do and we can use volunteer help no matter what your interest may be.  Thanks

Another big thank you!

We would like to thank the Wabash Valley Foundation, Clay County for awarding the campground a grant to help start the west shower house.  We offer our deepest thanks and may God Bless each of you.!

Thanks

We would like to thank the Parke County REMC for receiving one of their "Round Up" grants.  The funds will be used to install a handicap ramp into the main entrance to the dining hall and to make the planned west shower house hanicap accessable.  Thanks for all the help and may God Bless You!

Flag Pole

Thanks to a young Scout working on his Eagle project, we have a new flag pole at the campground in front of the dining hall, along with some landscaping.  It is a wonderful improvement to the dining hall area.  The flag pole itself had been donated several years ago and it has now been installed.  Thanks again young man and may God Bless you!

Hot weather

The west central part of Indiana is locked in a drought and period of abnormal hot weather.  Please be careful if you have to be outside, rest, drink lots of water and use extra caution.  When the humidity is very low like it now, you have to drink extra fluids.  You cannot wait until you are thirsty to start drinking, drink early and drink often.  Take time to check on your neighbors, especially those that are older.  Keep plenty of water and shade for your animals.  We cannot do anything about the weather, but we can make sure we all get though it by helping our fellow man and animal.

4th of July thanks

A big thanks to everyone who helped with serving homemade chicken and noodles during the annual 4th of July festival in Brazil.  Thanks to all the cooks, those that made noodles, anyone who helped serve, and those that helped set up and tear down the stand.  Without you, we could not have done it.  A great big thanks to those who came out in 100+ degree heat to eat.  God Bless anyone who helped make this stand a success this year.
