August meeting

The board will be holding a meeting on August 6th starting at 7:00 pm in the dining hall.  This is a change from our regular scheduled meeting for August.

Flag Pole

Thanks to a young Scout working on his Eagle project, we have a new flag pole at the campground in front of the dining hall, along with some landscaping.  It is a wonderful improvement to the dining hall area.  The flag pole itself had been donated several years ago and it has now been installed.  Thanks again young man and may God Bless you!

2013

We are taking reservations for use of the campground and dining hall for 2013.  Our hope and prayer is to have the majority of the work done on the dining hall before camping season next spring.  If you would like to make reservations, please contact the caretaker for more information.  We are planning to make some changes to our scheduling process and to the way we charge, so contact the caretaker for the details.

Fish Fry coming up!!

The campground will be hosting an all you can eat County Rhodes Fish Fry at the campground on August 11 from 4-7 pm.  On the menu will be walleye, chicken strips, and shrimp along will all the sides.  The cost for adults is $8.50 with dessert available but extra.  Come join us for some great food, fellowship, and to see what is happing at the campground.  Pass the word to your friends and neighbors, there is a fish fry to go to!!

Campground use

Are you interested in using the campground for an event, but do not want to prepare your own meals?  We can make arrangements to have someone prepare your meals for you.  Check with the caretaker for a menu and prices.

Hot weather

The west central part of Indiana is locked in a drought and period of abnormal hot weather.  Please be careful if you have to be outside, rest, drink lots of water and use extra caution.  When the humidity is very low like it now, you have to drink extra fluids.  You cannot wait until you are thirsty to start drinking, drink early and drink often.  Take time to check on your neighbors, especially those that are older.  Keep plenty of water and shade for your animals.  We cannot do anything about the weather, but we can make sure we all get though it by helping our fellow man and animal.

4th of July thanks

A big thanks to everyone who helped with serving homemade chicken and noodles during the annual 4th of July festival in Brazil.  Thanks to all the cooks, those that made noodles, anyone who helped serve, and those that helped set up and tear down the stand.  Without you, we could not have done it.  A great big thanks to those who came out in 100+ degree heat to eat.  God Bless anyone who helped make this stand a success this year.
